Peace is the ultimate connection

As I am writing this, I am listening to Sikh mantras on Spotify and chanting along. “Satnam, Waheguru, Satnam Waheguru, Satnam Waheguru”. A sense of ultimate peace pours through the top of my head all the way down to my toes. I start to remember going to the Gurdwara as a child, not really knowing what the words meant, but remembering feeling this sense of peace. I feel the same peace when I practice yoga, chant Hare Krishna, pray, or enter a meditative state. It makes me think.. THIS MUST BE IT! The connection that we feel, whether it be at a church, mosque, synagogue, Hindu temple, or Gurdwara, it’s the all the same. Peace, to me, means to be completely immersed in God’s light. When I say God, I’m not talking about a man in the sky controlling everything. I see God as an energy and the closest feeling that I have experienced to be “God energy” is the feeling of peace. The feeling of knowing that all is happening as it should and there is nothing to worry about. The feeling of pure acceptance of myself, pure acceptance of others, and pure acceptance of the universe. It is in this space that we hold our True Power.

Life can be hectic, to say the least. Things go wrong, people leave our lives, our children don’t do the things we want them do, our minds can chatter it’s way to believing we are not good enough… the list goes on. I always hear people say that the in the midst of life’s chaos, there is one thing that we do have control of- our attitude. This is true, our attitude towards our lives shapes our perspective of our life and from my experience- attitude is everything. Attitude determines if you have a positive outlook on life or a negative one. However, if we step even deeper than our attitude, there is this state of pure bliss that we can attain. I’m not saying we need to be there all the time, although that sounds absolutely goals AF! But I am curious to how often we tap in. How often do I take the time to tap into a peaceful state? Once a day? Once a week? How often do you take a step back from the chaos and just immerse yourself in peace? I’d like to say that if more people felt connected to God, to peace, this world would be a better place.

I’d love to hear your perspective and what brings you peace! Sometimes it can be something that is completely unrelated to religion or spirituality. Shoot, it could be the simple feeling of riding a skateboard and feeling the world/your mind melt away! Comment below ❤ I appreciate you!
