Astragalus

Curious about what herbs or supplements I take for immune support? Well today I am going to share a bit about one of my favorite day-to-day herbal supplements- ASTRAGALUS, otherwise known as Huáng Qí. Not only does the name sound inter-galactic, it does wonders for your body and immune system! Astragalus (pronounced uh·stra·guh·luhs) is a flowering plant in the family Fabaceae. It has been used as an herbal remedy for fighting disease in Chinese Medicine for centuries. According to this article published by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, Astragalus also may aide in areas of anti-aging, neurodegeneration, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer. Due to it’s high flavonoid content, this remedy has a wide variety of uses. Astragalus acts as a shield to protect the body’s immune system from potential threats. It is safe to take regularly for daily wellness, and works as a charm if you are trying to avoid getting sick. Check out my favorite brand for this amazing herb below!

I have been using Gaia Herbs supplements for 10 years now. They are super absorbable, as they are all mostly liquid herbal extracts put into a capsule. Their Astragalus Supreme saved me from getting sick when all of my coworkers were sick this last winter! Their formula contains Schisandra Berry, which is a supplement used for the adrenals to help with the body’s stress response, and Ligustrum Berry, which is used to boost the immune system. Ligustrum is another Chinese Medicinal herb often paired with Astragalus for deep immune support. The bottle shown above contains a 30 day supply and you can order it on Amazon with my affiliate link by clicking on the picture above!
