What difference does it make whether you’re all done up💄or bare faced? You’re still you & your spirit is what shows beyond the exterior ✨⁣ ⁣ I used to have major issues with letting myself leave my house without make up on. I remember at one point in high school, I would even wear make up to walk down the street to my mailbox 😂 ridiculous right? But back then the insecurity was WAY too real. I didn’t know any different. I remember always thinking my bare face was never perfect enough to show out in public. ⁣ ⁣ Years went on of this insecurity and my skin was even terribly breaking out from all of the foundation. It also wouldn’t help that I would cover my break outs with make up. ⁣ ⁣ And then I moved to Kaua’i, where you don’t even want to wear a full face of make up because of the humidity 😂😂 but on the real- I came here without my make up bag on purpose. I wanted to see if I could get past my fear and insecurity. I landed two job interviews in one week when I moved here. I did both of the interviews with a bare face & landed both of the jobs! It doesn’t seem like much, but to me it meant everything. It truly reminded me of the quality of the spirit over exterior looks. ⁣ ⁣ Now when I do wear make up, I do it for fun & because it makes me feel good. Not to cover up my “ugly”. Anything that we do should be because it feels good. Truth is, we’re all just as beautiful naturally as the ocean is, as the mountains are, and as the flowers are. We’re a part of Mother Nature & God don’t make mistakes. ⁣ ⁣ All and all, I guess I just want to say- You are beautiful. So we did a thing today 😂👳🏽‍♀️👯‍♀️ Bhangra and Giddha are Punjabi folk dances from the north of India. We both used to be on teams when we were younger but the love for the dance never left our hearts. I am in awe with the past 8 days of my life journey ✨ Retreats are one of my favorite ways to travel and connect with people. It’s a great way to have fun the old fashioned way- connecting with souls from all over the world at the deepest level with no fluff or bullshit, cultivating healthy habits together, and learning from each other. They are a great way to come together for individual and collective healing. I can’t even thank @epicself enough for putting so much of her heart and soul into the organization of this retreat. Also extremely grateful that @warriorwomenlife was my roommate, as her and I connected on many levels! So many inspiring individuals that I can now say are a part of my soul tribe 💜 Many thanks to everyone for holding a safe space for me to depart with old thought patterns and stories that were holding me back. Also, so much gratitude for the elders that blessed us this week and the Shipibo shamans we worked with in ceremony.
